Field Updates from Farmer Andrew
CSA pickups start the week of June 10!
As we ready ourselves for harvest season, the recent stretch of sunshine and warm weather has everyone in good spirits. Crops are starting to perk up and some of our wet fields have begun to dry enough to get on them. This week we transplanted the first succession of our summer, hot crops. Tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, summer squash, and watermelon all went out. Cool season crops of broccoli, cabbage, and peas are finally showing signs of life as we peel back blankets of row cover and look to recover from a cold, slow start this spring. Blue skies are a welcome sight as we prepare for the start of CSA pickups.
The first week of CSA pickup for the summer 2019 season will be the week of June 10, 2019.
In an effort to accommodate as many of our members as possible, we have shifted our share room hours slights. New hours for CSA pickups will be:
Tuesdays: 2pm-7pm
Thursdays: 11am-5pm
Fridays: 11am-5pm
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We are best reached via email, appletonfarmscsa@thetrustees.org, or phone,978-356-5728 ext. 4115. We look forward to the start of CSA season and seeing you all back on the farm soon!
